Vintage mid-century modern occasional table featuring a hand-etched pewter top by Italian metal artist G. Urso, set on a sculptural walnut base.
The round pewter top is densely etched in a bold, geometric Aztec-inspired motif, with a radiating sunburst pattern surrounding a central medallion. The walnut base has tapered dowel legs joined by a cross stretcher, with a shaped apron and mitered corner detailing typical of Scandinavian-influenced mid-century construction. The top is hand-signed “Made in Italy by G. Urso” in the metal.
At dining-table height, this piece works well as an entry table, small-space dining table, or standalone statement table. Its brutalist metalwork suits mid-century modern, brutalist, global-eclectic, or bohemian interiors.
Sturdy and in good vintage condition with minor signs of age-appropriate wear. I have not tried to polish the top so it maintains its natural aged patina. See pictures for details.
